LET FREEDOM RING

LET FREEDOM RING

This week, we are celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States of America. Let us not forget the service and sacrifice that gave us our freedom.  Gene and I have a family history of service.  We had ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War.  Our grandfathers served, and both of our dads served in the U.S. Navy. Gene also served in the Navy, so we truly know about service and sacrifice.   Let's celebrate, barbecue and picnic, have parades and fireworks, and show your American Pride.  This 250th celebration is brought to you CURIOSITY OF THE RED WHITE AND BLUE!

This pie is a perfect treat for your celebration. I call it Bye-Bye American Pie because it won't last long, and after that famous song.

One baked pie crust

1 cup of sugar

1cup of water

3 Tablespoons of cornstarch

3 oz pack of strawberry jello

sliced strawberries

blue berries

 whip topping

Make and bake your pie crust and cool completely

Mix the sugar, water and cornstarch in a sauce pan cook until thick

and remove from heat. Stir in the jello and stir until devolved.

layer the sliced strawberries in the pie crust and fill in with some blue berries. Then pour the Jello mixture over the berries. Place in refrigerator until it jells and sets.  To serve garnish with whip topping, strawberries and blue berries  Then it will be Bye Bye American Pie!
